guerrilla girls poster

Women in art have historically been held to a lower standard, and category. This comical but truthful poster from 1988 I think best communicates what women artists or any women entrepreneurs or scientists probably feel. You can read the entire post, and learn how hearing “No” inspired these females artist at the Getty Center’s blog Iris.

Thai House on Pico

Thai House on Pico

This is one of my favorite photographs. I am easily fascinated by lighting and mood. My photographs tend to be spontenaous, many while driving at 60mph, at a stop light, and once in a while, walking. I try to capture something that is from the everyday world that catches my eye, when the light is just right, but at the same time a magical moment. Most of my photos are from the city, and I feel, after over thirty years of living here, like a turist in my own town, fascinated by its landscape, strange locales, juxtapostions of extremes(for example, Beverly Hills Housewives coexisting with the homeless and destitute), car culture, interesting peoples and diversity of cultures and of course as evident in this case, food. You can see a few more samples I recently added in my photography page here.
